An epitome of Indian architecture, Ramtek is a historical city where Lord Rama during his exile is believed to have rested. It is located in the Nagpur district of Madhya Pradesh. As stated in Hindu history, the ashram of a Hindu sage ‘Agastya’ was situated in proximity to Ramtek. The place is also associated with the Sanskrit poet ‘Kalidas’ who is believed to have written ‘Meghaduta’ in the hills of Ramtek.
The place is also popular for its historic Jain temple with various statues of Tirthankara. The visit and stay of Digambar Jain Acharyas and Acharya Vidyasagaralong with his Sangh for the four months of Chaturmas added more popularity to this place. This famous pilgrimage destination is around 60 km from Pench National Park.
